How to apply

The Course

Become part of our new and innovative production company as an actor, technician, designer and / or events manager. On our Performing Arts HNC you are part of a working production team creating, organising, performing and managing all manner of events and productions including Musicals, Fashion Shows, Verbatim Theatre, Pantomime and innovative work. We are able to offer all of our HNCs a unique package whereby a student can study a particular pathway e.g. acting or technical theatre, or you can take a unit across any of the pathways meaning you can leave the course with a rounded knowledge of all aspects of the entertainment and theatre industry by gaining a general HNC in Performing Arts. The Acting specialist pathway will equip you with the knowledge, understanding and skills for success in a range of positions. You will study modules including: · The Performing Arts Industry (a research project) · Professional Development · Acting · Voice and Speech for Actors

We welcome an application profile that meets one of the following: • a BTEC Level 3 qualification in Performing Arts or • a GCE Advanced Level profile that demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subject or adequate performance in more than one GCE subject or • other related Level 3 qualifications or • an Access to Higher Education Diploma awarded by an approved further education institution or • related work experience as determined at interview with the Course Team Leader or • an international equivalent of the above and: • GCSE grades A* to C and/or 9 to 4 in maths and English The programme is taught and assessed in English, for applicants who are non-native English speakers and who have not undertaken their final two years of schooling in English, please note that applicants are expected to demonstrate capability in English at a standard equivalent to the levels identified below: • Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) level B2 • PTE 51 • IELTS 5.5; Reading and Writing must be at 5.5 • or equivalent.
Successful candidates may be able to progress onto the HND in Performing Arts (also offered at the College). Students can also gain employment in a wide range of performance art sectors.

Adults can enrol for FREE

You may see a fee attached to the course you’re interested in, but if you’re aged 19+ you’ll more than likely be eligible to enrol onto an adult course for FREE.
