How to apply

The Course

This is a cross sector qualification aimed at current and prospective team leaders. This qualification covers the skills and knowledge needed to be a successful team leader, covering competencies applicable to a wide range of contexts. You will develop knowledge around the principles of team leading and the general workings of a business as well as how important it is for a team leader to be able to successfully communicate with a range of stakeholders. During this course, you will develop an understanding of the principles of team leading and what leadership best practices you can encompass to enhance your team’s performance and motivate team members to achieve their potential. You’ll learn how to manage conflict within a team, how to be a positive role model and best mentor colleagues and how to cope with dissatisfied customers.

This course should take approximately four to six  months to complete. There are eight  units in total:

  • Principles of Team Leading
  • Understand Business
  • Understand How to Communicate Work-related Information
  • How to Manage Performance and Conflict in the Workplace
  • Principles of Equality and Diversity in the Workplace
  • Understand How to Develop Working Relationships with Colleagues
  • Understand Health and Safety Procedures in the Workplace
  • Understand How to Develop and Deliver a Presentation

This is a remote learning course which will be assessed via a portfolio of evidence.

There are no entry requirements for this course; however, a good level of English and a reasonable level of IT skills are required. There will be an initial assessment as part of the application process.

This is a knowledge only qualification so a relevant employer placement is not required, but may be beneficial.

This qualification will prepare you for a role as a team leader/manager, or develop your existing skills to be a more effective leader.

Achievement of this qualification could lead on to:

  • Level 3 Team Leader Apprenticeship.
  • Level 3 Certificate in Principles of Management and Leadership

Adults can enrol for FREE

You may see a fee attached to the course you’re interested in, but if you’re aged 19+ you’ll more than likely be eligible to enrol onto an adult course for FREE.
