How to apply

The Course

The Level 1 Awards in Introductory Welding Skills are ideal if you are new to the welding industry and want to gain knowledge and experience in welding work. The course will enable you to become competent in producing the following welding joints:

  • Three parallel beads on plate
  • Fillet joint in the horizontal/vertical position
  • Tee fillet joint in the flat position
  • Tee fillet joint in the horizontal/vertical position
  • Open outside corner in the flat position
  • Health & safety knowledge questions

The course has flexible start dates and sessions take place on Wednesday evenings. Please call 01244 656555 for availability.

Courses are available in:

  • Introductory Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) Welding Award – Level 1
  • Introductory Metal Inert Gas (MIG) Welding Award – Level 1
  • Introductory Manual Metal Arc (MMA) Welding Award – Level 1

Welding courses are also available at Levels 2 and 3 at the College.

You could progress on to the Level 2 Welding Skills course at the College.

Adults can enrol for FREE

You may see a fee attached to the course you’re interested in, but if you’re aged 19+ you’ll more than likely be eligible to enrol onto an adult course for FREE.
