How to apply

The Course

This T Level programme has been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses so everything you will learn will meet the needs of industry and prepare you for work. They provide the knowledge and experience needed to open the door to highly-skilled employment, an apprenticeship or higher-level study, including university.

The core components provide a broad understanding of basic health and science concepts you will need to know before moving onto to your occupational specialism and industry placement.

The core component will be assessed through a project set by employers in the industry and two externally-set tests.

There are two specialisms to choose from:

  • Adult Nursing
  • Midwifery

Typically you will need 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C (or above), including grade 4/C (or above) for maths and English.

T Levels offer many opportunities for progression to:

  • employment – you can use the skills, knowledge and experience you have gained to start working in the healthcare sector
  • apprenticeship – there are many opportunities offered through apprenticeships that allow you to carry on learning (20%) whilst spending most of your time (80%) furthering your skills in the workplace
  • higher  education – if you choose to study further, your T Level is worth UCAS points and will allow you entry onto certain courses. Please check the UCAS website as course entry requirements vary.

The overall aim of this T Level is to see you progress to a career as an adult nurse, midwife or another health-related career.
