How to apply

The Course

This course includes an industry placement of a minimum of nine weeks, working with an employer. 

Core content:

Students will develop an understanding of a broad range of issues relevant to the sector, including:

  • The creative economy
  • The individual in the creative industries
  • Cultural context and vocabulary
  • Audience and consumer needs
  • Legal and regulatory requirements
  • Professional standards and conduct in the workplace
  • Equality, diversity and inclusion requirements
  • Research skills
  • Project methodology and administration
  • Continued professional development

Typically you will need 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C (or above), including grade 4/C (or above) for maths and English.

T Levels offer many opportunities for progression, including:

  • Employment – You can use the skills, knowledge and experience you have gained to start working in careers such as jewellery designer-maker, furniture maker, furniture designer, furniture restorer, dressmaker, tailor, wardrobe assistant, fashion design assistant and many more.
  • Apprenticeship – There are many opportunities offered through apprenticeships that allow you to carry on learning (20%) whilst spending most of your time (80%) furthering your skills in the workplace
  • Higher Education – If you choose to study further, your T Level is worth UCAS points and will allow you entry onto certain courses. Please check the UCAS website as course entry requirements vary

The overall aim of this T Level is to see you progress into a career in the craft and design sector.

Adults can enrol for FREE

You may see a fee attached to the course you’re interested in, but if you’re aged 19+ you’ll more than likely be eligible to enrol onto an adult course for FREE.
