A Functional Skills qualification in English can be a gateway to increased confidence, improved job prospects or higher-level study. Our expert teachers will develop your confidence, understanding and skills in speaking, listening and communication, reading and writing. Functional Skills English qualifications are designed to give learners the skills to operate confidently, effectively and independently in education, work and everyday life.
All classes take place in an inclusive, friendly and relaxed environment, and are available in the daytime and evening at the Crewe and Ellesmere Port Campuses and daytime only at the Chester Campus. Courses are available from Entry Level 1 to Level 2.
The Functional Skills English course runs three times throughout the academic year for ten weeks at a time. Each ten-week block includes lessons, revision and exam preparation and at the end you will take exams in reading, writing and speaking & listening, giving you multiple opportunities throughout the year to sit the exams. You can join the course at the beginning of any ten-week block. Enquire today to enrol for the next course. The start dates for each block are:
