This Electrical Engineering Higher National Certificate (HNC) enables you to gain a Level 4 Higher Education qualification. This course offers the learner an excellent opportunity to combine study whilst continuing to work.

Students need to have at least one of the following: A BTEC Level 3 qualification (or other Level 3 qualification) in an appropriate subject (minimum 120 UCAS points) A-Level profile which demonstrates strong performance in a relevant ARA subject Access to Higher Education Certificate/Diploma Related work experience. In addition, it would be beneficial if students had GCSEs at grade A-C and English and Maths GCSE at grade A-C or equivalent. Many universities now allow advanced entry onto the corresponding second year of a degree. Some universities have direct articulations on to the second year of a bachelor’s degree programme, i.e., the HNC is equivalent to the first year of university. Learners should be aware that university admission criteria are always subject to change and understand the course entry requirements for subject, year, and grade before applying). After completion of the course, students can progress to the Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Engineering, equivalent to the second year of university. After completing a BTEC Higher National Certificate or Diploma, students can also progress directly into employment.
