How to apply

The Course

This course will give you the flexibility to progress into a wide range of jobs in the construction industry. You will develop techniques for carpentry used on construction sites. You will develop the tool skills related to the trade and you’ll learn all the techniques, gaining hands-on experience of producing basic joints and fitting and installing joinery items. You will learn about safe working practices, underpinning construction knowledge, circular saw operation, producing and marking out and the manufacture of routine joinery products.

Typically you will need 4 GCSEs at grade 3/ D or above, including a 3/2 (D/E) combination for maths and English.
On successful completion of the course, you could progress to the L3 Site Carpentry course at the College (or another related L3 course), an apprenticeship or employment in the industry.

The course fee shown is the co-funded rate which is only available for people living in the local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester or Cheshire East. If you live outside of these local authorities please contact the College for fee information.
