This programme is a work-related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. It’s a wide-ranging course that will equip you with the academic and practical skills required for success in a variety of mechanical, manufacturing and electrical and electronic engineering occupations. You will discover the world of engineering, engineering technology and the future of engineering. You will have the opportunity to develop specialist skills and gain a broader understanding and experience within real work environments. This course is a good starting point for those who wish to progress into engineering but require more experience and knowledge of the specialisms in the industry. The course covers electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering, maths and communications.
As well as learning about the employment area you have chosen, you develop the skills you need to start or progress a career. The course is also an excellent basis to apply for and achieve a full apprenticeship within the engineering sector or go directly into employment in the industry. The course is valued by universities and higher education providers and is a route to further study at Level 4 and on degree-level programmes.
When exploring the courses we have available, you may see a fee attached but you’re more than likely to be eligible for a fully-funded enrolment!
