The Course

This course provides students with a introductory understanding of sustainability and its practical applications in daily life. Participants will explore the principles of sustainable living and discover actionable steps to create a greener home environment while reducing energy consumption. Key topics include: Energy Efficiency at Home: Learn how to optimize energy use by understanding and adjusting heating systems, setting meters, and using smart technology for maximum efficiency. Green Technologies: Explore innovative technologies, such as solar panels, energy-efficient appliances, and home insulation solutions, to determine which are best suited for your home. Everyday Actions for Sustainability: Discover simple lifestyle changes to minimize your carbon footprint, such as reducing waste, conserving water, and adopting renewable energy sources. By the end of the course, learners will be equipped with practical skills and knowledge to make informed decisions about sustainable living, reducing their environmental impact, and embracing green technologies. You could take other DIY construction skills courses including our Electrical, Plumbing and Painting & Decorating courses. Alternatively you could progress to Level 1 Award in Electrical Installation or Plumbing and Heating

The course fee shown is the co-funded rate which is only available for people living in the local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester or Cheshire East. If you live outside of these local authorities please contact the College for fee information.
