How to apply

The Course

This programme provides students with the practical skills and technical knowledge required to take the next step in the engineering sector. It has been developed to meet industry needs and focuses on preparing students for careers or further study within manufacturing engineering.

Students will build an intermediate understanding of core engineering techniques and practices. Key areas include hand fitting skills, welding, sheet metal work, and health and safety awareness. Practical learning takes place in our specialist high-tech engineering facility at the Ellesmere Port campus, where students will use industry-standard tools and equipment to gain valuable hands-on experience.

Assessment is carried out through a combination of online exams, written assignments, a portfolio of evidence, and practical tasks. This course offers a progression route into higher-level study or employment and equipping students with the technical ability and workplace awareness sought after by engineering employers.
