How to apply

The Course

This qualification allows you to study the fundamental knowledge of IT, covering the role and implications of using IT systems and cyber-security threats and how to manage attacks. You will also develop important skills forcreating websites to meet a specific purpose and to manage data through the development of a relational database solution.

The qualification is designed to be taken alongside A levels as part of a study programme and can link to learning in A level subjects such as Mathematics and Business. It is an ideal course for you if wish to progress to higher education as a pathway to employment.

You will study the following mandatory units:

  • Information Technology Systems
  • Cyber Security and Incident
  • Website Development
  • Regional Database Development

Due to the overlap in course content this course is not suitable to be studied alongside A Level Computer Science.

Typically you will need 5 GCSEs, including two grade 5/B (or above) and three grade 4/C (or above) including maths or English.
Most of our A-Level students also go on to study at top universities.

The course fee shown is the co-funded rate which is only available for people living in the local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester or Cheshire East. If you live outside of these local authorities please contact the College for fee information.
