It could not be a better time to decide to study engineering! whether you are interested in High Speed 2 (HS2), engineering production and design, automotive engineering or a different engineering sector, studying engineering will enable you to gain access to many exciting job opportunities.
The BTEC Higher National qualifications in Engineering are designed to address the increasing need for high-quality, professional and technical engineers at Levels 4 and 5. They are highly valued by employers and can also count towards membership of professional bodies and other employer organisations.
The HNC in Engineering provides students with a broad introduction to the subject area through a mandatory core of learning, whilst allowing for the acquisition of some sector-specific skills and experience through the specialist units in each pathway. There is opportunity to pursue a particular interest through the appropriate selection of specialist units.

In addition, it would be beneficial if students had GCSEs at grades 9-4/A*-C, including English and maths, or equivalent. Mature learners may present a more varied profile of achievement that is likely to include extensive work experience and/or achievement in a range of professional qualifications in their work sector.
