How to apply

The Course

Steady Steps in Maths is a practical course designed to help adults build confidence in using maths for everyday situations. You will develop essential numeracy skills through real-life tasks that focus on understanding numbers, handling measurements and interpreting information. The course introduces key arithmetic methods and simple problem-solving techniques, helping you apply maths with greater ease in daily life.

Activities reflect common experiences such as budgeting, managing personal finances, comparing prices, working with time and measuring quantities. You will also explore how to use data in a clear and practical way. This step-by-step approach supports you in strengthening your foundation skills and understanding how maths is used in real-world contexts.

Steady Steps in Maths is an ideal starting point if you want to refresh your skills before progressing into further study or returning to education.
