How to apply

The Course

The HNC Acting course combines acting theory with hands-on practical experience to help you develop as a confident and skilled performer. This Level 4 qualification is designed to build strong foundations in performance, creativity and professional practice, preparing you for further study or progression into the industry.

You will explore the core principles of acting while taking part in a range of practical projects. This includes devising and performing in productions within the College’s in-house theatre. Through workshops, rehearsals and live performance opportunities, you will develop your vocal, physical and characterisation skills, alongside an understanding of performance techniques used across stage and screen.

Alongside practical work, you will complete research and independent study tasks that strengthen your analytical skills and deepen your understanding of acting theory. The course also focuses on professional behaviours expected within the performing arts sector. You will develop strong communication skills, learn to work effectively as part of a creative team and build confidence in presenting your work to an audience.

By the end of the course, you will have a solid grounding in acting practice, a growing performance portfolio and the skills needed to progress to Level 5 study or pursue opportunities within the creative industries.
