How to apply

The Course

This qualification provides students with a strong foundation in Information Technology, exploring how IT systems operate and their impact on individuals and organisations. Students will study cyber-security, learning how to identify, manage and respond to potential threats and attacks. The course also develops practical skills in website creation and data management through relational database design.

The qualification complements A Levels in subjects such as Mathematics and Business and is designed to support progression to higher education or employment in IT-related fields. Students will complete four mandatory units covering Information Technology Systems, Cyber Security and Incident Management, Website Development, and Relational Database Development. Each unit builds technical understanding and practical competence through a balance of external assessments and applied project work.

You will study the following mandatory units:

  • Information Technology Systems
  • Cyber Security and Incident
  • Website Development
  • Regional Database Development

Due to the overlap in course content this course is not suitable to be studied alongside A Level Computer Science.
