How to apply

The Course

This course is ideal for anyone who wants to begin a creative career in make-up. You’ll develop confidence through hands-on, practical learning while building essential industry skills. Whether you’re interested in beauty, fashion, media, or creative work, this course gives you a strong foundation to start your journey.

You will learn how to apply everyday and special-occasion make-up, as well as how to teach clients to recreate looks themselves. The course also covers creating media make-up looks, including the application of small ready-made prosthetic pieces, producing fashion and photographic make-up for catwalks and photoshoots, using camouflage make-up to conceal skin conditions and tattoos, and designing and applying face and body art for creative and themed projects.

You will need a Level 2 make-up qualification, which is desirable for entry onto this course.
You can progress onto a career as a Make-Up Artist, including opportunities within TV and film, or continue onto university-level study in a related subject.

The course fee shown is the co-funded rate which is only available for people living in the local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester or Cheshire East. If you live outside of these local authorities please contact the College for fee information.

Funding for Adult Courses

You may see a fee attached to the course you’re interested in, but if you are 19+ there may be funding options available to cover the cost of your course.

Higher Education Funding

There is funding available for eligible students.

Do I pay this fee?

Higher Education courses such as HNCs and HNDs can be self-funded through a payment plan. However, for eligible students, a tuition fee loan can fund your course through Student Finance England and you may be eligible for a maintenance loan to support your education.

Please note, you should apply for your loan before the course starts. You only commit to the loan once you begin attending the course.
