If you are interested in working in the construction industry then this course is perfect for you! Ideally, you will have already completed a Level 2 diploma in either brickwork or carpentry and Joinery, and wish to study further.
You will gain a Level 2 Certificate in Retrofit as part of your studies. Retrofit can be any improvement work on an existing building or structure to improve its energy efficiency, making it easier to heat, able to retain that heat for longer, and replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy. Retrofit is quickly becoming a bit part of the industry and employers are looking for these skills.
You will aslo attain a Level 3 Certificate for Retrofit Advisors, further growing your skills in the area. You will further develop and improve your knowledge of retrofit and the important role the Retrofit Advisor has in the entire process. You will study the retrofit installation process, communication skills, health and safety and develop your knowledge of the impact of retrofit on climate change and sustainability.
You will gain your Health and Safety in a Construction Environment award, which will allow you to apply for the Constrcution Skills Certification Scheme Green Card, which you will need in order to work on construction sites in the UK.
This course will also give you the opportunity to develop your practical skills in either brickwork or carpentry and joinery to a Level 3 standard. You will develop a portfolio of practical skills that can be used as supporting evidence when applying for jobs in the industry.
