This course provides students with knowledge of the scale and context of suicide within the United Kingdom, its associated stigma, the main risk factors and to increase their understanding that suicide is preventable. This course is ideal for you if you are over the age of 16 and want to gain an understanding of suicide risk and how people might react when faced with a difficult situation or circumstance. Students will consider the impact of challenging situations on mood and behaviour and how this can lead to negative thoughts and feelings. This will provide an awareness of how suicidal thoughts can arise and identify those at potential risk of suicide.
