Develop your carpentry skills and prepare for a career in the construction industry with this Level 3 Site Carpentry course. Building on the knowledge and practical skills gained at Level 2, this one-year course will help you develop more advanced techniques and gain the confidence needed to work effectively within the trade.
Topics include:
Advanced site carpentry skills
Carpentry techniques
Safe working practices
Construction knowledge
Using carpentry tools and equipment
Cutting and shaping timber
Fitting and installing joinery
Working accurately from measurements and specifications
Developing practical trade skills
Preparing for employment in the construction industry
Throughout the course, you will build on your existing carpentry knowledge through practical activities designed to develop your accuracy, confidence and craftsmanship. You will continue to develop the skills required to work safely and effectively with tools, materials and equipment while tackling more complex carpentry tasks.
The course is ideal if you have completed Level 2 Site Carpentry and want to further develop your skills before progressing into employment or higher-level study. Skilled carpenters and joiners can work across a wide range of construction projects, giving you opportunities to develop your career within the industry.
By the end of the course, you will have developed a stronger range of practical carpentry skills and further understanding of the construction industry. You could progress to a Level 4 construction or civil engineering course or move into employment within the construction industry.
The course fee shown is the co-funded rate which is only available for people living in the local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester or Cheshire East. If you live outside of these local authorities please contact the College for fee information.

Do I pay this fee?
Higher Education courses such as HNCs and HNDs can be self-funded through a payment plan. However, for eligible students, a tuition fee loan can fund your course through Student Finance England and you may be eligible for a maintenance loan to support your education.
Please note, you should apply for your loan before the course starts. You only commit to the loan once you begin attending the course.
