If you are interested in becoming an electrician, this course will help you develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to take your next steps in the electrical industry. You will combine classroom learning with practical workshop activities, giving you the opportunity to put electrical theory into practice.
Topics include:
Throughout the course, you will develop your understanding of electrical science and electrotechnical principles while learning how this knowledge is applied to practical tasks. Workshop activities will give you hands-on experience and help you build your confidence when working with electrical tools, equipment and installations.
You will also develop an understanding of the electrical industry and the different career opportunities available. Qualified electricians can work for a wide range of organisations or become self-employed, providing opportunities to work across domestic, commercial and other electrical environments.
By the end of the course, you will have developed your electrical knowledge and practical abilities, providing a strong foundation for further training, an apprenticeship or progression towards a career as a qualified electrician.
The course fee shown is the co-funded rate which is only available for people living in the local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester or Cheshire East. If you live outside of these local authorities please contact the College for fee information.

Do I pay this fee?
Higher Education courses such as HNCs and HNDs can be self-funded through a payment plan. However, for eligible students, a tuition fee loan can fund your course through Student Finance England and you may be eligible for a maintenance loan to support your education.
Please note, you should apply for your loan before the course starts. You only commit to the loan once you begin attending the course.
