This course will give you the practical skills and knowledge needed to take your first steps towards a career in the plumbing industry. Starting with basic pipework skills, you will gradually progress to more complex domestic plumbing tasks while developing the confidence to work safely and accurately.
Topics include:
Throughout the course, you will gain hands-on experience of the skills used by plumbers in domestic environments. You will learn how different plumbing systems and components work together and develop the practical techniques needed to install and maintain them.
You will also learn about safe working practices and how to complete plumbing tasks competently and accurately. As your skills develop, you will move from basic pipework to more complex tasks, including bathroom suites, sanitation systems and central heating installations. Please note that gas and oil work is not included within this course.
By the end of the course, you will have developed a strong foundation in modern domestic plumbing, preparing you to progress to further study, an apprenticeship or employment within the plumbing industry.
The course fee shown is the co-funded rate which is only available for people living in the local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester or Cheshire East. If you live outside of these local authorities please contact the College for fee information.

Do I pay this fee?
Higher Education courses such as HNCs and HNDs can be self-funded through a payment plan. However, for eligible students, a tuition fee loan can fund your course through Student Finance England and you may be eligible for a maintenance loan to support your education.
Please note, you should apply for your loan before the course starts. You only commit to the loan once you begin attending the course.
