How to apply

The Course

This programme provides students with the advanced knowledge and skills needed to support children and young people effectively within a school or college environment. It covers a wide range of areas including child and young person development, supporting positive behaviour, promoting social development, and working alongside teachers to contribute to learning across different subjects.

The course is designed for individuals who already have significant experience as a school support worker and are aiming to move into more specialised roles such as administration, learning support, or management. Students will also develop practical expertise in areas such as supporting pupils with information and communication technology, helping to create positive learning environments, and contributing to the wider development of children and young people.

Assessment is carried out through assignments, case studies, observations of work practice, expert witness testimonies, simulations, and professional discussion. By completing this Level 3 qualification, students will strengthen their ability to support both staff and pupils, enhancing their career prospects within educational settings.
