Recognising Success: Celebrating Ellesmere Port and Chester Student Achievements at Annual Awards

June 12, 2025

Cheshire College – South & West’s Ellesmere Port and Chester students took centre stage once again at the highly anticipated annual Student Awards, celebrating outstanding achievements and contributions from students across a diverse range of subject areas.

The event, held at the College’s Ellesmere Port Campus, brought together students, families, staff and community partners for an evening of celebration, recognition and pride.

Guests were welcomed with a canapé reception prepared and served by the College’s Hospitality and Catering students.

The evening celebrated the academic, vocational and personal achievements of students across the College, with awards spanning subject areas including Engineering, Arts, Health and Social Care, Construction, Science, Sport, Maths, Business and more.

Jasbir Dhesi OBE, Principal and CEO of Cheshire College, said:

“The Student Awards are always one of the highlights of our year.”

“They give us a moment to reflect on the hard work, growth and success of our students and the support they receive from our incredible staff. We are so proud of every nominee and winner, and we can’t wait to see what they go on to achieve next.”

Kieran Osbourne, student and award winner, said: “Winning an award means a lot because in comparison to 5 years before, when I first started at Cheshire College, I don’t think I’d even have the confidence to go up on stage and collect an award with loads of people watching so it feels a big achievement.”

The Student Awards will shortly take place at the Crewe Campus, continuing the celebration of student success across all College sites.

Applications remain open for September 2025, with a wide range of full-time courses, apprenticeships and higher education options available. Cheshire College remains focused on helping students build the knowledge and experience they need to take their next steps with confidence.
