Prepare for a career in the construction industry with the T Level in Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction. This two-year Level 3 qualification combines classroom learning with practical experience, giving you the knowledge, technical skills and workplace experience needed to begin your career. As part of the course, you will complete a minimum of 315 hours of industry placement, helping you apply your learning in a real construction environment.

• Construction design, surveying and planning
• Health and safety
• Building technology and sustainability
• Digital technology and construction mathematics
• Project management and commercial business
• Construction law and relationship management
• Measuring, analysing and designing the built environment
Throughout the course, you will develop a broad understanding of the construction industry while studying topics such as science, measurement, information and data, digital technology and the built environment. You will also build practical skills in designing, measuring, analysing and verifying construction projects through occupational specialist units completed during your second year.
Your industry placement is an important part of the programme, allowing you to gain valuable workplace experience and develop the professional skills employers are looking for. You will also achieve your Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Card, which is often required to access construction sites and is recognised across the industry.
By the end of the course, you will have the knowledge, practical experience and confidence to progress into employment, higher-level study or an apprenticeship within construction, design or surveying.
Over your T Level journey you will gain a range of skills and substantial experience of working for employers, which will give you a number of progression options, including civil engineering technician, technical surveyor, building technician, engineering construction technician and architectural technician.
You could also progress to a HNC/D in Construction Management for England (HTQ) at the College, a foundation degree or degree course at univeristy or a higher-level apprenticeships that offer honours degrees as part of the programme.
The course fee shown is the co-funded rate which is only available for people living in the local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester or Cheshire East. If you live outside of these local authorities please contact the College for fee information.

Do I pay this fee?
Higher Education courses such as HNCs and HNDs can be self-funded through a payment plan. However, for eligible students, a tuition fee loan can fund your course through Student Finance England and you may be eligible for a maintenance loan to support your education.
Please note, you should apply for your loan before the course starts. You only commit to the loan once you begin attending the course.
