Our maths courses are designed for adult students of all abilities, whether you want to build your confidence, improve your job prospects, progress in your career or prepare for further study. Support from our friendly and experienced lecturers will help you develop practical maths skills for education, work and everyday life.
At Cheshire College, adults can study GCSE or Functional Skills Maths. After applying, you will be invited to Campus for an assessment, which helps us identify the course and level that is right for you.
GCSE Maths topics include:
GCSE Maths runs from September to June, with examinations taking place at the end of the course. As you prepare for your exams, lecturers will provide support with revision and exam techniques, helping you work towards achieving the grade you need for employment or further study.
Functional Skills Maths is available from Entry Level 1 through to Level 2 and focuses on developing practical maths skills that can be used at home and in the workplace.
Functional Skills topics include:
Functional Skills courses run from September to July, with multiple opportunities to sit assessments throughout the year. The course can help build your confidence with maths while supporting progression to employment, further study or a higher-level qualification.
Classes are available during the daytime and evening and take place in an inclusive, friendly and supportive environment.
The course fee shown is the co-funded rate which is only available for people living in the local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester or Cheshire East. If you live outside of these local authorities please contact the College for fee information.

Do I pay this fee?
Higher Education courses such as HNCs and HNDs can be self-funded through a payment plan. However, for eligible students, a tuition fee loan can fund your course through Student Finance England and you may be eligible for a maintenance loan to support your education.
Please note, you should apply for your loan before the course starts. You only commit to the loan once you begin attending the course.
