Build your confidence in looking after your car with this practical Car DIY course. Whether you’ve recently passed your driving test, want to learn how to maintain your own vehicle or are considering a future in motor vehicle maintenance, this course will introduce you to a range of essential skills.
You’ll learn how to carry out basic vehicle checks, identify potential problems and complete common maintenance tasks. From checking under the bonnet and preparing for an MOT to dealing with a flat tyre, checking your brakes and carrying out basic servicing, you’ll develop practical skills that can help you better understand and maintain your vehicle.

The course provides a practical introduction to vehicle maintenance and can also help you explore whether further study or a career in the motor vehicle industry could be right for you.
The course fee shown is the co-funded rate which is only available for people living in the local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester or Cheshire East. If you live outside of these local authorities please contact the College for fee information.

Do I pay this fee?
Higher Education courses such as HNCs and HNDs can be self-funded through a payment plan. However, for eligible students, a tuition fee loan can fund your course through Student Finance England and you may be eligible for a maintenance loan to support your education.
Please note, you should apply for your loan before the course starts. You only commit to the loan once you begin attending the course.
