Cheshire College – South & West continues to invest in the wellbeing of its workforce through its dedicated Wellbeing Day, an initiative introduced in 2024 that gives every member of staff dedicated time to focus on their mental health, wellbeing and work-life balance.
The Wellbeing Day forms part of the College’s wider commitment to creating a positive, supportive workplace where colleagues feel valued both professionally and personally. Staff are encouraged to use the day in the way that best supports their wellbeing, whether that’s spending time with family and friends, enjoying the outdoors, volunteering, exercising, pursuing a hobby or simply taking time to rest and recharge.
The initiative recognises that supporting staff wellbeing plays an important role in creating a positive working environment, enabling colleagues to thrive and continue delivering the high-quality support and learning experiences that benefit students every day.
Jasbir Dhesi OBE, Principal and CEO of Cheshire College – South & West, said:
“We know that looking after our people is just as important as supporting the success of our students. This initiative is one of the ways we demonstrate that commitment in practice, by creating space for colleagues to step back and focus on their own wellbeing. When our staff feel valued and supported, they are better equipped to inspire, guide and make a positive difference to the lives of our students every day.”
The Wellbeing Day sits alongside a wider programme of wellbeing initiatives designed to support colleagues throughout the year, helping to create a positive, inclusive workplace where people can develop personally and professionally.
