THE NEWS AT CHESHIRE COLLEGE:

Cheshire College Welcomes Prospective A-Level Students to Crewe Campus

June 26, 2026

Cheshire College – South & West welcomed prospective A-Level students to its Crewe Campus this week for its annual A-Level Welcome Day, providing applicants with an opportunity to experience college life ahead of enrolling in September.

The event brought together students who have accepted conditional offers to study A-Levels, offering an insight into the next stage of their education before they receive their GCSE results in August.

The College offers a broad range of A Level subjects at its Crewe campus, preparing students for progression to university, apprenticeships and employment.

Throughout the day, applicants met their future lecturers, explored the campus and its state-of-the-art facilities, and took part in sample lessons designed to give them a taste of their chosen subjects. Students also had the chance to meet their future classmates, helping them build friendships and feel more confident about starting College.

The Welcome Day formed part of the College’s transition programme, supporting students as they prepare to move from school into further education. Alongside experiencing life on campus, attendees were able to ask questions, learn more about their courses and gain a better understanding of what to expect when they begin in September.

Ruth Szolkowska. Vice Principal Innovation, Curriculum and Quality at Cheshire College, said:

“Our A Level Welcome Day is a way to give students the opportunity to experience College life before they officially join us in September. It’s a fantastic chance for them to meet their lecturers, explore their chosen subjects and, just as importantly, get to know the classmates they’ll be learning alongside. Building those connections early helps students feel more confident and settled, making the transition to College that little bit easier when they return after receiving their GCSE results in August.”

The College looks forward to welcoming its new cohort of A Level students later this year as they begin the next chapter of their academic journey.

Applications for courses at Cheshire College – South & West remain open. To secure a place, visit www.ccsw.ac.uk. Prospective students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to avoid missing out on their preferred course.
