This Level 5 HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering is designed to help you develop higher-level technical knowledge and practical skills while providing the flexibility to fit your studies around work and other commitments.

The course combines theoretical study with practical application, helping you develop a deeper understanding of electrical and electronic engineering. Learning is focused on building the technical, analytical and problem-solving skills used within modern engineering environments.
Practical activities and engineering projects provide opportunities to apply your knowledge to industry-related challenges, while developing the professional skills needed to work effectively within the sector.
The HND is a vocational qualification that is highly regarded by employers and can support your professional development while you continue working.
By the end of the course, you will have developed advanced electrical and electronic engineering knowledge and practical skills, helping you progress within your career or continue to higher-level study.
The HND is available for students who wish to progress from a HNC at Cheshire College. If you have obtained your HNC from another institution or have had a gap in your studies your application will be reviewed to ensure you have previously undertaken a combination of units that is complementary to our HND programme.
Students need to have a Level 4 qualification in an appropriate subject.
Relevant subjects include maths, science, electronics, computer systems, electrical installation and engineering.After completion of the course, students can progress to a top-up degree or into employment.
The course fee shown is the co-funded rate which is only available for people living in the local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester or Cheshire East. If you live outside of these local authorities please contact the College for fee information.

Do I pay this fee?
Higher Education courses such as HNCs and HNDs can be self-funded through a payment plan. However, for eligible students, a tuition fee loan can fund your course through Student Finance England and you may be eligible for a maintenance loan to support your education.
Please note, you should apply for your loan before the course starts. You only commit to the loan once you begin attending the course.
