The Course

This course is ideal for those who want to develop their skills and progress within the beauty and spa industry. The programme combines practical treatment techniques with the professional knowledge needed to provide a range of body and relaxation therapies.

  • Planning and delivering promotional activities

Practical sessions provide experience of a variety of body and spa treatments, including massage, aromatherapy and hot stone therapy. You will develop the techniques needed to carry out treatments safely and professionally while considering individual client needs.

The course also explores specialist spa therapies, including sauna, steam, hydrotherapy, body wrapping and flotation treatments. These areas help broaden your practical skills and understanding of the different treatments available within the beauty and spa industry.

Alongside treatment skills, the programme covers health and safety, promoting products and services and planning promotional activities, providing a wider understanding of working effectively within the industry.

By the end of the course, you will have developed a broad range of practical and professional beauty therapy skills, supporting progression within the beauty and spa industry or further specialist training.

Typically you will need 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including a 4/3 (C/D) combination in maths and English.
Further training in beauty therapy or in complementary therapies. Employment in salons, spas and cruise ships. Progression to foundation degree courses in complementary therapeutic practices for health and wellbeing.

The course fee shown is the co-funded rate which is only available for people living in the local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester or Cheshire East. If you live outside of these local authorities please contact the College for fee information.

Do I pay this fee?

Higher Education courses such as HNCs and HNDs can be self-funded through a payment plan. However, for eligible students, a tuition fee loan can fund your course through Student Finance England and you may be eligible for a maintenance loan to support your education.

Please note, you should apply for your loan before the course starts. You only commit to the loan once you begin attending the course.
