Cheshire College – South & West is set to welcome prospective students, parents, and members of the local community to its first Open Evening of the academic year on Tuesday 7th October 2025, from 5:30PM to 8:00PM, across its Crewe, Ellesmere Port, and Chester campuses.
The event marks the start of an exciting journey for those exploring their next steps in education and offers a chance to discover why Cheshire College continues to be a standout choice across the region.
“We’re excited to open our doors for the first time this academic year and welcome the next wave of students, said Principal and CEO, Jasbir Dhesi OBE.
“Whether you’re stepping into college life for the very first time or returning to education after a break, the Open Evening is the perfect opportunity to explore what we have to offer.”
Visitors will be able to tour the College’s state-of-the-art facilities, speak directly with expert tutors, watch live demonstrations, and receive personalised support with their applications.
This year’s event also offers a first look inside the College’s brand-new Institute of Technology (IoT) building at the Crewe Campus.
“The IoT is a major milestone for technical education in the region, offering cutting-edge training in high-demand sectors like engineering, computing, construction, and healthcare science.” Dhesi added.”
“With industry-standard equipment and real-world learning environments, the IoT is designed to prepare students for the careers of the future.”
Offering over 300 courses – including A Levels, T Levels, apprenticeships, adult learning, higher education, and vocational programmes – Cheshire College provides strong industry links, supportive tutors, and award-winning facilities help students build the skills and confidence to succeed.
To support accessibility, the College continues to offer free transport for all full-time students aged 16–18 who live more than one mile from their chosen campus. This includes public bus services to all campuses and an additional coach service to Crewe Campus, with no means testing required.
“We want every student to feel confident that they can access education without barriers,” Dhesi added.
“By continuing to offer free transport across all our campuses, we’re making it easier for young people to take that next step—no matter where they’re coming from. It’s just one of the many ways we’re committed to removing obstacles and making education accessible to everyone.”
