Cheshire College celebrates National Apprenticeship Week

Cheshire College is proudly joining the education and skills sector in celebrating National Apprenticeship Week. Recognised across the UK from 6th-10th February, National Apprenticeship Week is an opportunity to highlight the achievements of Apprentices and the positive impact they make to communities, businesses and the wider economy.

In its commitment to promoting the value of Apprenticeships, Cheshire College is hosting Apprenticeship panels at its Ellesmere Port and Crewe Campuses, and local employers such as Cheshire West and Chester Council, Mid-Cheshire NHS Trust and Altimex are due to attend.

Each panel will be followed by a Q&A session, where representatives can answer questions submitted by students. Former students who undertook Apprenticeships are also returning to the College this week, hoping to inspire the next generation, and promote the many benefits of becoming an Apprentice.

The College has organised designated information zones, which will be available across all three Campuses this week. These pop-up zones provide an opportunity for all students to ask questions and obtain information about Apprenticeships.

The College is also due to host its annual Apprenticeship Awards on Thursday 9th February, where Apprentices and their employers are recognised for their outstanding effort and hard work.

Karen Roberts, Assistant Principal – Apprenticeships & Employer said that National Apprenticeship Week is: “A special opportunity to showcase what makes Apprenticeships so vital in today’s world. They are mutually beneficial for both the student and the employer, and they lead to a wide range of future options and career opportunities.

“At Cheshire College we work with over 500 local, national and international employers to deliver Apprenticeships across a wide range of sectors, reflecting current market and industry needs. As a College, we work closely with Apprentices and employers to ensure maximum support and development.”

To find out more about becoming an Apprentice, join Cheshire College for an Apprenticeship Open Evening on Thursday 16th February, 5:30pm-7pm at the Crewe or Ellesmere Port Campuses. Guests will meet staff, current Apprentices and employer partners to gain an insight into what life is like as an Apprentice.

If you are an employer interested in benefitting from an Apprentice, email employers@ccsw.ac.uk or call the employer hotline on 01244 656 555 or 01270 654 654.
