The Course

Develop the practical bookkeeping skills needed to manage financial records with confidence on the AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping. This course builds on the knowledge gained at Level 1 and provides a deeper understanding of bookkeeping processes used in a range of business environments. It is suitable for students looking to progress their accounting studies or develop skills for employment.

• Double-entry bookkeeping
• Manual bookkeeping
• Trial balance
• Financial records
• Accounting processes
• Bookkeeping documents
• Ledger accounts
• Business finance
• Accounting skills
• Financial administration

You will learn how to complete manual double-entry bookkeeping accurately while developing an understanding of the documents and processes used to maintain financial records. The course covers bookkeeping procedures up to Trial Balance standard, helping you build the knowledge and accuracy required to prepare accounts effectively.

Throughout the course, you will strengthen your attention to detail and gain practical experience in recording financial transactions and maintaining organised accounting records. These skills are widely used across finance and business roles and provide a strong foundation for further study.

By the end of the course, you will have the confidence to manage bookkeeping tasks to Trial Balance standard and be well prepared to progress onto higher-level accounting qualifications or employment within the finance sector.

The course fee shown is the co-funded rate which is only available for people living in the local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester or Cheshire East. If you live outside of these local authorities please contact the College for fee information.

Do I pay this fee?

Higher Education courses such as HNCs and HNDs can be self-funded through a payment plan. However, for eligible students, a tuition fee loan can fund your course through Student Finance England and you may be eligible for a maintenance loan to support your education.

Please note, you should apply for your loan before the course starts. You only commit to the loan once you begin attending the course.
