Explore how digital artwork is created for games and develop your creative and technical skills using software commonly used within the games and creative media sectors.
Topics include:
You will explore the fundamentals of 2D and 3D digital art, from drawing and concept development through to modelling and texturing. You will be introduced to Adobe Photoshop, Autodesk Maya and Substance Painter, giving you experience with a range of digital tools and techniques.
Practical workshops will include tutor demonstrations, guided activities and independent project work. You will develop skills in digital drawing, concept art, basic polygon modelling and 2D and 3D texturing. You will also be introduced to game art workflows and basic game design principles.
Throughout the course, you will create your own digital artwork and have the opportunity to build a portfolio that demonstrates your developing creative and technical skills.
This course is suitable for adults who are interested in digital art or games art, including those looking to develop new skills or return to education.
The course fee shown is the co-funded rate which is only available for people living in the local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester or Cheshire East. If you live outside of these local authorities please contact the College for fee information.

Do I pay this fee?
Higher Education courses such as HNCs and HNDs can be self-funded through a payment plan. However, for eligible students, a tuition fee loan can fund your course through Student Finance England and you may be eligible for a maintenance loan to support your education.
Please note, you should apply for your loan before the course starts. You only commit to the loan once you begin attending the course.
