KITCHENS AND HOSPITALITY ELLESMERE PORT

Our Kitchens and The Academy West facilities at Ellesmere Port Campus

The Academy West at Ellesmere Port Campus gives students the opportunity to train in realistic hospitality and catering environments using professional industry-standard facilities.

These training spaces help students build confidence, develop practical skills and prepare for careers in hospitality, catering and food service.

What our Hospitality Kitchens have to offer

Students gain hands-on experience throughout their studies in professional kitchens, restaurant service environments and commercial hospitality settings. This helps students understand the pace, teamwork and standards expected within the hospitality industry while building practical experience for their future careers.

Academy West includes three specialist training kitchens. Students develop core cookery skills in the Skills Kitchen, train with professional bakery and pastry equipment in the Pastry and Bakery Kitchen, and prepare for commercial kitchen work in the Fine Dining Kitchen. Students also gain experience within the Academy Restaurant and delicatessen area, where they prepare and present fresh produce in a professional customer-facing environment. Throughout the year, students work alongside local businesses and respected chefs during hospitality events held across the region, including Chester Cathedral, Chester Town Hall and The Wine School of Cheshire. These opportunities help students build confidence and prepare for careers within the hospitality industry.
