Safeguarding and Welfare Officer

Salary: £25,412 to £27,747 (per annum)

Contract Type: Permanent                               

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Crewe campus

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an inspirational person to join our College in the role of Safeguarding and Welfare Officer. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide well-being interventions, advice and guidance for learner with mental health concerns and/or safeguarding issues.
  • Provide mental health support / mental health first aid to learners with mental health concerns and/or support needs.
  • Work flexibly on either a one-to-one or group basis supporting learners with safeguarding or emotional needs as guided by College counsellor.
  • Support the delivery and development of a range of events, strategies and training programmes to increase understanding of the areas of mental health across the College.

Key Person Specification Requirements:

  • Level 4 or equivalent qualification;
  • Experience of working in a supportive environment;
  • Evidence of relevant continuous professional development that includes mental health;
  • Ability to work with empathy and sensitivity; and
  • Enhanced DBS check.
