Cheshire College Hosts Biggest-Ever Community Fun Day

Cheshire College – South & West hosted its biggest-ever Community Fun Day, welcoming hundreds of families, local residents, and community groups to its campuses in Ellesmere Port, Chester, and Crewe on Saturday, 17th May. The free event was a huge success, offering a vibrant mix of activities and entertainment for all ages, making it a day to remember for the local community.

The event featured a wide array of attractions, including interactive games, craft stations, children’s entertainment, and hands-on workshops. Community stalls lined the campuses, offering information, products, and services to attendees, while delicious food and refreshments were available throughout the day.

At the Crewe Campus, the highlight of the day was the vibrant Crewe Out Loud Festival, a dynamic showcase of music, drama, dance, and art, featuring performances by students from local schools.

Pupils from schools such as The Oaks Academy, St Thomas More Catholic High School, and Monks Coppenhall Academy brought the campus to life with their incredible talents, creating a truly celebratory atmosphere.

Jasbir Dhesi OBE, Principal and CEO of Cheshire College – South & West, expressed his delight at the success of the event:

“We are thrilled with the turnout for our Community Fun Day and the fantastic atmosphere across all three campuses. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the strong bonds we have with our local communities and to showcase the creativity and talent of our young people,” he said.

“We are proud to offer an event where families can come together, enjoy activities, and discover the wide range of educational opportunities available at Cheshire College.”

The Community Fun Day also provided an opportunity for prospective students and their families to explore the College’s facilities, meet staff members, and gain insight into the full range of courses offered across the three campuses.

This year’s event proved to be the College’s largest and most successful, bringing people from across the community together for a day of fun, discovery, and connection. Cheshire College – South & West is already looking forward to next year’s celebration and the opportunity to continue fostering strong ties with the local community.
