Course Summary
This qualification is for you if you have some experience in computing, perhaps in construction, manufacturing or engineering design, and want to increase your knowledge and skills to improve your career. It is a practical course where you learn by completing workbooks and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.
Areas of study include the following:
- Principles of the 2D drawing environment, in terms of hardware, software and physical surroundings
- Typical composition and application of a CAD system

No formal entry qualifications are required.
Next Steps
On successful completion of this course, students can progress into employment as a Computer Aided Design Technician or CAD draughts-person, or continue to Level 2 or Level 3 qualifications in associated subjects.

* from 1 April 2022 earnings limit is increased to £18,525 per year (£1,543 per month)
