The International Department offers a range of courses available throughout the year for all English levels. From complete beginner to advanced with aims to develop students’ communication skills.
English tuition is combined with a full programme of sports, activities and cultural visits which are enhanced by living in Home Stay accommodation with a trusted host family where English is spoken.

We believe experiencing life in the UK outside of the College Campus is an integral part of the whole learning experience and the trips and activities are designed to develop your English while you learn about British life and culture.

Our General English Programme courses use a communicative approach to teaching English. While all key language skills are covered, there is a strong focus on speaking and listening. Students are encouraged to communicate in English with one another throughout the course.
Our qualified language teachers use a range of modern teaching techniques to deliver engaging sessions to small groups. Lessons include interactive and challenging speaking tasks designed to help students use English in real-life situations and contexts.
Activities such as role-plays, discussions, debates, games, problem-solving tasks and quizzes promote high levels of interaction, giving students plenty of opportunities to practise their speaking and listening skills.
Our IELTS Preparation courses are designed for students at intermediate level or above who are aiming to take the IELTS Academic Exam. The course focuses on developing key English language skills while building effective exam strategies.
In addition to helping you prepare for the test itself, the course supports your readiness for work or study in English-speaking environments by improving your overall proficiency and confidence in using the language.
Sport events offers students the chance to develop fitness, language and social skills in a fun and supportive environment. Our state-of-the-art sports and leisure facilities include a large indoor sports hall equipped for basketball, volleyball, badminton and football, as well as a climbing wall. Outdoors, students have access to a 3G Astroturf suitable for football, hockey and rugby. The on-site fitness suite features the latest cardio and resistance equipment.
In addition to traditional sports, the programmes includes a range of fun games such as dodgeball, rounders, capture the flag and British bulldog.
Our International Team also organises a variety of social activities, giving students the opportunity to relax, make new friends and continue developing their English outside the classroom. Social events include movie nights, game nights, talent shows, quizzes, karaoke, language games and board games.
We offers groups the opportunity to immerse themselves into the British education system by participating in an integration programme. Students can choose to partake in this programme from as little as 1 week up to 4 weeks, depending on the group’s requirements. The Integration Programme is the perfect opportunity for international students to live the life of a British student for a short period of time.
The Employability Skills course takes an activity-based approach to raising students’ awareness about employer expectations and the working environment. The course contains activities designed to develop learners’ skills in applying for a job, writing a CV, letter writing, interview techniques, effective communication and the importance of working as a team. There is a focus on employability skills, however it enables students to use language structures with confidence, and a skills focus to improve your spoken and written English. As part of the course, students will take part in a group project where they can develop their skills in working as a team.
The ESL Teacher Training program at CCSW is designed for those who already have ESL teaching experience but want to enhance their skills and knowledge to effectively teach English to non-native speakers. The two-week course explores a range of topics, from assessing learners to planning an engaging lesson.

The Summer School programme at Cheshire College combines expert English tuition with a full programme of sports, activities and cultural visits.
The lessons focus on developing the core language skills, with particular emphasis given to speaking and listening. The teachers will provide students with fun and challenging speaking activities which allow students to practise the language in real life situations and contexts.
Students are provided with accommodation in both Crewe and Chester, depending on their placement. Each residence offers a comfortable and well-equipped living environment whilst ensuring a supportive and convenient stay throughout their time at the college.
