The Course

This course is ideal if you are passionate about a career in hairdressing and are looking for a change of career. There is one mandatory full day at College plus 3-6 hrs of flexible sessions over the week or evenings.

You will be using the highest and most prestigious resources and equipment in our state-of-the-art salons. You will train with either Wella or Schwarzkopf products in line with industry. At our Ellesmere Port site our tutors are Wella Master Colour Experts, so you will be gaining the highest knowledge possible. Excellent personal presentation, motivation, professionalism and H&S awareness are crucial to succeed. You will attend yearly educational visits to the Wella International studios in Manchester and Paris. Learners are encouraged to participate in various competitions such as Wella Exposure, Blackpool NHF and AHT and in-house competitions.

We also have visiting guest speakers from the industry, running workshops and providing employability talks, so what better place to start your career than in our real working environment commercial salons, where you will be working on clients from the beginning and learning to run your own salon and learn how to manage your own commercial targets.
Content will include:

  • Health and safety
  • Shampooing and conditioning the hair
  • Styling women's hair
  • Cutting women's hair
  • Colouring hair using a variety of techniques
