Job Title: Progress and Engagement Co-ordinator
Salary: £17,142 – £18,473 (pro rata per annum)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week, part year working 36 weeks per year
Location: Multi-campus (Crewe, Chester and Ellesmere Port campuses)
We are seeking a Progress and Engagement Co-ordinator to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised individual with excellent digital skills to be the main point of contact in relation to learner attendance. Monitoring and taking appropriate action to improve attendance as required, as well as providing general administrative support.
- Monitor absence information from the online and phone systems and ensure college systems are regularly updated;
- Access, read and analyse absence data;
- Seek innovative solutions to specific attendance issues in liaison with curriculum areas, PDTs, Learner Services, and where appropriate, parents/guardians and external agencies;
- Take appropriate action where an absence could indicate a missing child or a learner at risk; and
- Make direct contact with learners to ascertain reasons for un-certified absences and liaise with parents/carers.
Key Person Specification Requirements:
- GCSE Grade C (4/5) in Maths and English (or equivalent);
- Level 2 IT qualification (or equivalent);
- Experience of using spreadsheets, databases and inputting data;
- Experience of working within an office environment;
- Experience in liaising with members of the public and problem solving;
- Excellent organisational and digital literacy skills; and
- Enhanced DBS check.

Our Academy West restaurant and training kitchens are fully-fitted with equipment that is used in the industry. Travel and Tourism learners benefit from doing airline safety briefings and serving in a real section of aircraft fuselage. Engineering learners use industry-standard machinery to perform various engineering operations such as welding, fabrication, repair and maintenance. Our bespoke hair, beauty and barbering salons create an authentic environment where learners gain skills in the various elements of the industry. As well as our modern classrooms, we have industry-standard facilities which include impressive art and design workshops, science laboratories and a motor vehicle workshop with four vehicle ramps. Our strong links with local employers, such as Vauxhall Motors, SP Energy Networks, Ecolab and Unilever, ensure learners have access to work placements and industry professionals to support their future careers. Media, games art and design learners develop skills in a number of areas and have access to 4K video recording equipment and specialist software applications.
