If your passion is athletics and want to combine what your sport with your academic qualification, then we’re the college for you. You can study any of our full-time courses and become a member of our Athletics Academy. You’ll develop the knowledge and expertise you need to go on to university or straight into work or an apprenticeship and gain a nationally recognised qualification whilst training and competing every week to develop your athletics skills.

The range of support available to our academy athletes includes top level qualified coaching, individual programming and training, physiotherapy, strength and conditioning, sports psychology and nutrition advice.

More about the Athletics Academy at CCSW

We offer a variety of programmes, with specialist coaching and tuition and excellent facilities. Our staff are highly experienced and have worked at high levels of competition. Our programmes offer a mix of theory and practical sessions which include an understanding of anatomy and physiology, participating in a variety of sports to increase your skills and personal effectiveness and exercise and fitness, which will prepare you well for work in the industry.

You will have access to excellent sports facilities throughout your course to enable you to develop your skills and levels of fitness and to take part in competitions. We provide everything you need from a sports arena with basketball, volleyball, badminton and korfball courts, ATP-approved tennis courts, well-equipped gyms and fitness studios, as well as an outdoor multi-use games area and a climbing wall at the Crewe Campus. 

A good level of playing experience in your chosen sport be it from playing for your school or a club, county etc.

A willingness to learn and develop in your chosen sport.

Between 16 -19 years old.

You will have the opportunity to compete in competitions throughout the season. These include county, regional and national competitions and tournaments as well as other nationwide cup competitions.

You’ll develop the knowledge and expertise you need to go on to progress within your sport and to university, work or an Apprenticeship.

There are no extra fees associated with this course.
