Finance Governor and Curriculum & Quality Governor Vacancies
Cheshire College South & West has a clear purpose: nurturing talent and empowering people to achieve their full potential; supporting businesses to succeed and communities to thrive. The College works with key stakeholders and leads on initiatives to provide high-quality education for all ages in Crewe, Ellesmere Port and Chester. As a College we act with honesty, integrity and trust as we work together to provide equality of opportunity for those within our local communities.
We are currently seeking 2 governors to join the Corporation Board. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an ambitious and dynamic Governing Board and genuinely have an impact on the future success of this College and its learners. You will support the development, and influence the direction, of our College as we continue to build our financial resilience.
We are actively looking for people with a passion for education, ambition for our learners, staff and the local community. We are particularly seeking:
- A governor with a curriculum and quality remit to join our Corporation. You will have experience within, or knowledge of, the FE sector at a senior level and will bring additional, effective support and challenge to ensure that our education and training programmes are delivered in a high-quality way, with continuous improvement and innovative practice; and
- A governor with a finance background who is strategic, influential and commercially astute. You will be a fully qualified accountant with the ability to demonstrate a record of accomplishment shaping the financial strategy and direction of organisations at senior level, preferably within the private sector; ideally you will have an affinity with the local area.
Previous governance experience is not a pre-requisite as you will benefit from a well-supported induction and training programme. We are interested in people with a commitment to the transformative impact of education and training, along with high expectations and standards; and with the confidence to put ideas forward. Ideally you will have an appreciation of the context in which our College operates. Whilst the position of Governor is voluntary, related travel and other necessary expenses will be reimbursed.
