Work Ready Programme

The aim of the Work Ready Programme is to prepare learners for the world of work and they will benefit from:

The Employability Skills Programme

Employability is all about the skills and attitudes that students need to move on in the world of work. The College’s professional Careers Advisers together with a network of business contacts will deliver workshops with learners. These will:

  • Help learners to identify their individual strengths and development needs
  • Challenge learners to look for experiences that will enhance their skills and qualities
  • Coach learners in how to sell their skills in CV’s and presentations
  • Prepare for a real world assessment of their work readiness with Crewe Pledge

As they complete their college studies working closely with Careers, PDT’s the College Apprenticeship Service and national vacancies, learners will be matched with apprenticeship opportunities as they become available.

The Window to Work Programme

This programme will address the issues of creating a positive online presence that will help to market employment skills and provide a secure environment for learners to ‘test’ their CVs with real employers with the potential of finding appropriate work experience.

Other opportunities for learners include:

  • Access to local and regional employers through partnerships with the Crewe Pledge and Chamber of Commerce
  • Access to Apprenticeship and Higher Learning Opportunities
  • Workshops delivered by leading UK businesses for professional skills

The focus of the programme of activities is to:

  • Develop vocational and academic skills for the workplace
  • Enhance soft skills
  • Support learners through work experience
