Why choose English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses?

Our ESOL programmes are designed for adults aged 16 years and over whose first language is not English and who are living or trying to settle in the UK.

ESOL courses are designed to help you improve your level of English to get more out of your life in the UK and to make it easier to study a qualification and help you progress to employment. It will also improve your communication skills, build your confidence and help you integrate into life in the UK.

We will assess your level of English before you start the course and place you in a class at the right level for you. All courses last 10 weeks and you have the opportunity to enrol three times in one year in the autumn, spring and summer terms.

We offer ESOL courses at different levels to meet your specific needs, starting at Pre-Entry Level for those who cannot read, write or speak any English, through to Level 2 programmes. Our ESOL study programme includes maths and citizenship qualifications to develop your understanding of British culture.

You will cover various aspects of English including:

• Speaking

• Listening

• Reading

• Writing
