How to apply

The Course

This course is designed for individuals who are new to welding and want to gain an understanding of the basic skills and safety practices involved in the trade. It offers a hands-on introduction to the welding environment, including how to work safely, use equipment correctly, and develop core techniques that support entry into the sector. Students will be introduced to general welding principles and will take part in supervised practical tasks to build confidence and experience. The course takes place in a workshop setting, with a focus on developing awareness of safe working procedures and basic fabrication skills. Ideal for those considering a future in welding, metalwork, or engineering-related industries, this course provides a foundation for further study.

There are no formal qualifications required. An interest in welding, metalwork, or practical engineering is recommended.
You can progress onto a Level 2 course in Welding, Fabrication, or a related technical area.
