Apprentices to be celebrated at awards ceremony

The achievements of dozens of Apprentices will be celebrated at Cheshire College – South & West’s Apprenticeship Awards Ceremony on Tuesday 6 March.                          

The awards, part of the College’s activities to mark National Apprenticeship Week (5-9 March 2018), recognises the outstanding performance and results achieved by Apprentices from across the region.

More than 150 guests are set to attend the event at the College’s Ellesmere Port Campus with more than 25 awards presented on the night. 

Sharing her experience at the awards, will be current Apprentice Rebecca Lawes, 20, from Northwich. Rebecca, who is completing an Apprenticeship with online retailer in Crewe, said: “I started my Apprenticeship with last August.

“I’m really enjoying my Apprenticeship. I’ve already learnt so much. It’s a rotational Apprenticeship so I get the chance to work in 14 different departments during the course of my time here. I would love to continue at once I finish and progress eventually into a managerial role.

“I’m looking forward to the Awards and I’m honoured to have the opportunity to share my experience.”

The awards pay tribute to those Apprentices most deserving for their ingenuity and hard work, distinguishing them from others and proving them worthy of recognition. 

Amongst the award categories are, Award for Exceptional Enterprise and Innovation, Exceptional Contribution and Apprenticeship Ambassador of the Year, as well as various awards within specific industry sectors.

Cheshire College – South & West’s Director of Business Development and Apprenticeships, Maria Davison said: “We are extremely proud of the high quality Apprenticeship programmes that we deliver that make a valuable contribution to both our Apprentices’ careers and the employers we work with.”
