Adult Financial Support – Learners aged 19 years and over

Adult Financial Support – Learners 19+ Advanced Learner Loan If you are doing a Level 3 or Level 4 qualification you may need to apply for an advanced learner loan to cover your tuition fees. If this is the case then you will need a funding and information letter from the College before you can complete your application. If you need any further advice or support with this then please contact a member of our Bursary Department and we will be happy to help.

Advanced Learner Loan Bursary Learners may apply to get support from the Loan Bursary Fund after they have received a letter approving their Advanced Learner Loan. The support can help pay for things like:

  • travel and subsistence
  • course materials and equipment
  • childcare
  • examinations
  • classroom assistance for a disability or learning difficulty – once the student has been assessed by the College

AEB Learner Support Fund  Full and part-time funded learners aged 19+ may be eligible to apply for support from the AEB fund. The support can help pay for things like:

  • travel and subsistence
  • course materials and equipment
  • childcare
  • course and examination fees

Support for the above two funds is means tested and available for household incomes below £26,100.

Childcare Provider Pack

Apprentices  Apprentices working more than 33 hours a week, are entitled to the same benefits as everyone else in the workplace. These include:

  • Tax Credits/Universal Credit
  • Sick pay entitlement
  • At least 20 days’ paid holiday a year
  • Statutory Maternity/Paternity Pay and Maternity/Paternity leave

HE Learners  Learner Loans Two types of loan are available:

  1. Tuition Fee Loan – to help cover the cost of your course fees
  2. Maintenance Loan – to help towards accommodation and other living costs
