The Access to Higher Education Diploma is a Level 3 qualification which prepares people without traditional qualifications for study at university. The course is structured to allow you to develop both knowledge of their subjects and the academic skills to progress to university. You will develop academic study skills which will prepare you for study at higher education level. Your Personal Development Tutor will provide support and guidance throughout the programme and will encourage you to reflect on your progress, identify your strengths and areas to develop and will be there to help you to stay on track.
Our Social Science with Law pathway is a challenging programme which develops in-depth understanding in the fields of sociology, psychology, criminology, social policy and law. You will develop an extensive understanding of these subjects through a combination of theory and practical sessions, delivered and facilitated by highly knowledgeable and experienced teachers who understand the requirements of higher education and how to prepare you to progress there.
You are expected to have achieved GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4. You should also submit a piece of written work which summarises your experiences to date and why you are enrolling on an Access to HE Diploma. You are encouraged to research the entry requirements of the HE programmes you aspire to progress to, prior to your interview for the programme, to ensure they will accept an Access to HE Diploma and if they have any other requirements.
This programme will qualify you to progress onto higher level study at the College or university.
